"Brasília 50", by Jorge Antunes, is for guitar and pre-recorded
sounds. The work was comissioned for the 50th anniversary of
Brasília, and will feature 50 movements, each one depicting an
historical event which took place on each year of Brasilia. The above
movement, 1968, coments on the AI-5, the most cruel law the
Brazilian dictatorship issued against civil liberties, and the protests
that followed. It quotes an excerpt of a song commonly sung on such
manifestations.
